What’s Included and What You’ll See

coloseum arena

The Colosseum. The largest amphitheater ever built, where gladiators fought before crowds of up to 80,000. Explore the tiered seating levels with views down over the ancient arena, and use the audio guide to understand how the events, the crowds, and the stage machinery worked in ancient times.

The Roman Forum. The political and social heart of ancient Rome. Walk the Via Sacra past temples, the Senate House, and the arches of Titus and Septimius Severus. The audio guide brings the ruins back to life.

Palatine Hill. The legendary birthplace of Rome, where Romulus and Remus are said to have founded the city, and later the address of emperors. Explore the ruins of imperial palaces and enjoy panoramic views over the Forum and the Circus Maximus.

Important Information Before You Book

  • Names required, book 3 days ahead. Colosseum tickets are nominative: you must enter each participant’s full name at booking, and it must match their ID. Because of this, bookings must be made at least 3 days in advance.
  • Bring your passport or ID. Required for entry, and it must match the name on your ticket.

Important Information Before You Book
  • Colosseum entry time is fixed. Your Colosseum slot is scheduled and can’t be rescheduled. Arrive on time. The Forum and Palatine, however, are flexible within a 24-hour window before or after.
  • A tip from reviewers: split it over two days. Since the Forum and Palatine ticket is valid for 24 hours, many visitors do the Colosseum at their scheduled time and the Forum and Palatine on a different day or a cooler part of the day.
  • Late afternoon is quietest. Reviewers repeatedly recommend a late entry (around 4:30 to 5:30 PM) for smaller crowds and almost no security wait.
  • Security screening. All visitors pass airport-style security. In high season the wait can reach 30 minutes.
  • The app is digital only. No physical audio guide is provided. Download the app to your phone and bring headphones.
  • Cancellation: this ticket is non-refundable. Confirm your date and names before booking.

What Travelers Say

What Travelers Say

“The 5pm entry time was great because there were fewer people and almost no wait time for security. We visited the Forum earlier around 2pm and entered via the Capitoline hill, a lesser-known entrance, so no wait time there either.” (Christine, August 2026)

“Good to highlight that although the Colosseum time is prompt, your ticket for the Roman Forum is actually valid for 24 hours before or after. Made for a cost-effective activity spanning two days.” (Lauren, August 2026)

“We didn’t want to spend the money on a private guide but wanted to learn the history of the Colosseum. This audio guide app was so easy to use and gave us so much information. Would definitely recommend.” (Olivia, July 2026)
